Winter Season

Note that the bush camps and camping are located in the river bed. Most often in winter, with exception, the river level can rise during heavy rains. This only happens when heavy rain falls in the Cape Winelands regions at once (Du Toitskloof, Worcester, Ceres and Robertson areas – average twice a year). Should this affect your stay, we will try to move you to units that have not been affected. If this is not possible, we will keep your deposit as a credit for the next 6 months' use. Limited availability in high season.

Please note: Our days can be very beautiful in winter, but the nights usually get very cold. Suggest you bring extra blankets and warm clothes.

Group Bookings

Rivierzicht offers peaceful camp and accommodation on the Breede River. This is what our customers expect from us. Please note when making your booking, that late night music and loud voices and laughter will not be allowed after 10pm and security action may be expected when not adhering to these rules.
“Any 3 or more units/camp sites booked, is considered a group booking and the person making the booking is responsible for payment and the group during their stay”.
If individually booked, there is no guarantee the guests will be booked together.

Rivierzicht Resort Rules & Regulations

Welcome to the Rivierzicht River Resort where we strive to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. To ensure a peaceful stay and for your own security please take note of the following:

Regulations

  • No ski-boats, jet ski’s, quad-bikes and dirt bikes (scramblers) are allowed under any circumstances. Only boats below 10hp and 3 meters long are allowed with prior arrangement.
  • Boats are only allowed in the water for fishing purposes, slow moving boats.
  • We ask that guests do not go onto the neighboring farmers properties, as the owners value their privacy and is not open to the public.
  • Any boats not arranged with reception prior to arriving, and is above 10hp and 3m long, will be asked to vacate the premises immediately.
No items are to be disposed of or washed in the river
Controlled fires only in marked areas
Please respect fellow campers with regards to the following:
  • Loud music and rowdiness
  • The use and neatness of the ablution facilities
  • The privacy of each camp site
  • The neatness of the sites during your stay and when leaving
For control it would be appreciated if you could limit the number of day visitors, and notify the owners of the number of visitors.
Dogs: Basjan, Diesel and Difflock are our dogs and walk freely on the premises.  Pets are allowed, with prior arrangement.

SAFETY ON THE PREMISES

  • The river is between 2 and 6m deep.
  • There are sandbanks and wooden stumps in the river.
  • The river flows in the direction of Robertson and we recommend (depending on the wind) that you swim or row against the stream in order to return easily to the camp site. The current of the river is strong and is often underestimated.
  • For minors, or persons who are not strong swimmers, we insist on the use of safety equipment at all times.
  • We recommend that toddlers be dressed with safety equipment at all times while at the camp site.
  • Please don’t fish in the swimming areas.

SAFETY ON THE DECKS

  • No bare flames in the tents or on the decks please.
  • Please don’t smoke in the tents.
  • Please don’t take mattresses or bedding out of the tents.
  • Please make sure that all electrical and gas equipment does not touch the tents and are switched off after use.
  • We advise that all food and drink not be left unattended.
  • We thank you in advance for retuning the fish you catch to the river, and not disturbing the bird’s natural environment.
ADMISSION AND ACCOMMODATION IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. RIGHT OF ADMISSION IS RESERVED.

Rivierzicht Resort Payment & Cancellation Policy

  • Unfortunately we do not have card facilities available.
  • 50% deposit is required to confirm a booking.
  • Please follow the payment instructions as provided in the quote.

Cancellation Rules

  • No changes are made to the booking on the day of check-in.
  • Any cancellations 30 days, prior to reservation date is refundable, subject to administration fee.
  • Between 15 – 30 days, prior to reservation date, 50% is refundable.
  • Any cancellations 14 days, prior to reservation date is non-refundable.
  • Any refund payments are subject to 10% administration fee.
  • In case of a cancelled booking being filled again, a refund will be done, also subject to a 10% administration fee.
  • No refunds will be provided if you decide to return home earlier.
Please note: Minimum 2 nights stay on all weekends or minimum 3 to 4 nights stay on Public holiday / Long weekends.

Pets Policy

  • Dogs are allowed with prior arrangement. Two dogs per site only. In case of too many dogs on a site, those without prior permission must be removed from the premises.
  • Dogs have to stay at the sites/accommodation booked for the guest and not cause a disturbance with barking etc. Dogs must be on a leash on the sites.
  • Owners must clean up after their dogs at all times, on site and other areas.
  • Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
  • We have two boerboels, Difflock and Basjan, they walk freely on the premises and is use to guests and their pets, and is not aggressive.
